To whomever may be reading this: Hello, my name is Leonardo Botticelli. Leonardo is a name my father had given me in honor of his great war accomplishments. It means “as brave as a lion”. You see, my father was a magnificent war leader who had fought to defend his country in many wars. I felt it was my destiny to follow in his footsteps. However, in this catastrophe everyone seems to be calling “The Great War”, I am nothing more than any other soldier among me as I fight. I’m nowhere near the war general my father had been. However, I am writing to tell whoever may be reading this, Italy’s side of the story. The story of the Great War.
My family means very much too me. I have a wife who I had met in the Great War. She was a nurse, I a soldier. Soon after we got married we had a son name Mario.
Although our army isn't the strongest compared to our allies, we plan to invade alongside our ally Great Britain. The bloody Germans have lately been using cheap submarine warfare. I think its their fault in the first place, they invaded our allies. They will never see whats coming, the alliance of Britain, France and ourselves will do
This so called "Treaty of Versailles" was signed. I'm not sure I'm too happy about it either. For the most part, my country and I are happy about it. The German military size was reduced so no 1 country had too much power. Also to restrict some of Germany's power, they had land taken away from them and they had to pay for many war debts. A "League of Nations" was also formed. This is where the countries unite to work things out peacefully before war or any extreme consequence was created. Italy got a bit of land but mostly it was our allies that gained it such as Britain and France. I've also heard word that Austria-Hungary is now to different countries named Austria and Hungary.
